What is hydronic heating?

Put simply hydronic heating uses heated water to radiate warmth into your house. The most commonly known form of hydronic heating is radiator wall panels, using a network of pipes throughout your house, heated water is delivered to your radiators. With a wide range of shapes, sizes, colours and designs the possibilities are endless.

The most popular form however is in-floor heating, this can be installed in the concrete slab as part of your new build, retro-fitted to an existing suspended floor or in-screed for new homes or renovations.

With thermostatic control and the ability to further control individual floor coil circuits and radiators hydronic heating is a highly efficient form of heating.

In-Slab

Using the highest grade of floor heating pipe on the market Rehau Pex ‘A’ pipe is installed within the structural slab of your new build, by circulating heated water throughout the house the concrete is gently warmed and heat is radiated into the rooms of your house. Resulting in an even warmth without draughts, dust or noise.

Suspended Floor

Perfect for retro-fits new builds or to coincide with your renovations. Aluminium heat diffusion panels are installed to the underside of your suspended floor, using the same principles as In-slab heating heated water is carried through a series of pipes installed in the heat diffusion panels, transferring heat to the floor above.

In-Screed

Using a similar method as in-slab heating, in-screed heating allows you to install pipework within a screed or topping slab, as a screed/topping slab is required for this, this is usually done in conjunction with renovations. Also popular for second stories to for heating wet areas.

This can either be installed to the mesh or laid on an insulating positioning board

Radiators

With an endless array of radiator designs available, from a modern sleek designer panel to a traditional steel radiator there is a panel to suit your needs. By circulating heated water through a network of pipe heat is delivered to your radiator panel which gently radiates heat into your room. Installation can be timed to coincide with your new build, renovation or even retro-fitted to an existing home. Radiators offer a practical solution to heating the upstairs bedrooms on two storey homes.

Towel Rails

Using the same principle as radiators hydronic heated towel rails are the ultimate in luxury, available in multiple finishes towel rails not only heat your bathroom but will also heat your towels leaving you with a warm, dry fluffy towel.

Heat Sources

Hydronic heating allows you the flexibility of selecting from multiple heat sources, with options from gas, electric heat pump, diesel or even wood. Your boiler or heat pump is the heart of your system, from here water is heated before circulating through your floor heating or radiators and then returned to your boiler to repeat the process.
